Kiana Audrey

Jan 10th 2013

For the record, I told my husband I had a feeling I was going to give birth. My friends and I had a pool going, over what day I was going to give birth, and I won! Lol!

I started having minor contractions the night before, nothing major, I figured they were just Braxton Hicks contractions. I woke up around 1230am because my back ached, but thought nothing of it and tried to go back to bed. I awoke again at 230am and because my back still ached,  I decided to take a nice LUSH bath to relax.

I started having constant contractions in the tub and when I knew they were 3-5 minutes apart (I downloaded an iPhone app to time my contractions), I went to wake up my husband. I called the hospital to tell them I was coming in & when I went to go to the bathroom (to pee for the hundredth time that morning), I lost my mucus plug.

I got admitted @ 6am & I was 5cm dilated. I went all natural with no epidural & it went by quick. Kiana was "sunny side up" and it was killer on my back! They had me walk around the L&D halls to help move my labor along and by 830am I was at 8cm. The doctor ended up breaking my water and I was in "transition labor" until 10am. That was the hardest part! It was constant contraction & my back was in pain that I couldn't hold myself up on my knees or anything. I just wanted to curl in a ball and that just made my back pain worse!

At 10am, I got the go ahead to push & since my doctor wasn't there yet, my delivery nurse, Liz, let me push at my own leisure. By the time my doctor came, I was pushing at full force. At 1045am, Kiana Audrey was born❤ Pushing her out was such a crazy experience! I can't believe women that push for hours! Thats got to be crazy!

Holding my baby for the first time!

She was so tiny!

7 lbs 1oz & already grabbing things!

Her first feeding (sorry about the boob shot)!

She's a little strawberry patch child

Her hair came out that way & it still sticks up to this day.

Her tiny dry feet!

First nap

Sutter is serious about baby kidnapping. All the infants had "baby lo jack" on their feet.

2 tiny dry feet

Laying in my bed
